A day after the blow, it cooled to a crisp. But the victory remained the same.

Doosan won 1–0 on the road against the Kia Tigers at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju, South Korea. The win was Doosan’s third straight and improved their record to 54–2–50 on the season.

The day before (July 30), Doosan’s bats were on fire. They pounded out 28 hits, including four home runs, and scored 30 runs in a 30–6 victory. The 30 runs were the most in KBO history. The 24-run margin was also the largest in the league.

The game played out completely differently than the day before. They were held in check by Kia ace James Nail and were unable to capitalize. Doosan totaled eight hits on the day, but aside from an error in the top of the sixth inning, they didn’t score a run in nine innings.

Where the offense shined the day before, it was the mound that held up. Starting pitcher Jo Duk Balajovic tossed 6⅔ scoreless innings, followed by Lee Byung-heon (⅓ innings), Hong Gun-hee (⅓ scoreless innings), and Kim Taek-yeon (1 scoreless inning). The latter, in particular, saved the day in the eighth inning, striking out Kim Do-young and Socrates with runners on first and second.

Doosan eventually won 1–0 to sweep the three-game series against KIA.

After the game, Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop said, “Starting pitcher Balajovic pitched his best game since joining the team. It was a day that showed what we expected when we 카지노사이트 signed him. I congratulate him on his first win and look forward to seeing him pitch like this for the rest of the season.”

“Our bullpen also did a great job of protecting the one-run lead to complete the win, especially our closer, Kim Taek-yeon. Even with the pressure of a narrow lead, he pitched with characteristic boldness to earn the save,” Lee said. “The outfielders also showed incredible defensive focus, which relieved the pressure on the pitchers.”

Doosan will begin a three-game series against the Kiwoom Heroes at home in Jamsil on April 2. Lee said, “The flow of the game was different yesterday and today, but the fans’ support was the same. We are truly grateful and will do our best to show them a good game at home,” said Lee.
