‘Oh, jumping mistake’ Figuire finishes a disappointing fourth in Grand Prix 3
Lee Hae-in (18, Sehwa Girls’ High School) failed to win a medal in her first Senior Grand Prix event of the season.
Lee earned a technical score of 61.92 and an artistic score of 62.74 for a total of 124.66 points in the women’s single free skate at the French Grand Prix, the third event of the International Ice Skating Union (ISU) Senior Grand Prix of the 2023–2024 season, on Thursday (Feb. 4) in Angers, France.
She finished the competition in fourth place with a total score of 190.96 points, which included 66.30 points from her short program the previous day. Isabo Levito (USA) took first place with 203.22 points, followed by Nina Pinzarone (BEL) with 198.8 points and Rion Sumiyoshi (JPN) with 197.76 points.
Lee raised her medal hopes with a third-place finish in the short, but had to settle for fourth. She faltered on the jump.
Dressed in a purple outfit, Lee completed his first task, a double axel-triple toe-loop combination jump, cleanly, but his triple lutz-triple toe-loop combination jump had a wobbly landing that cost him 2.61 GOE points.
In the second half of the competition, Lee stalled on her triple lutz-double toe-loop-double loop combination jump, resulting in a single on her first jump. The next jump also received an Attention (caution for edge use).
From there, Lee finished her performance without any major mistakes. The crowd erupted in applause, and there were several foreign fans cheering with Korean flags. However, Lee was unable to smile as he sat back and waited for the score.
Lee is a South Korean figure women’s singles ace who won a silver medal at the World Championships in 토토사이트 March. In February, she topped the podium at the ISU Four Continents Championships. However, she failed to make the podium at this event, continuing her jinx of not winning a medal at the Senior Grand Prix.
Lee will now compete in the sixth edition of the event in Osaka, Japan, starting on April 24, and will try to win a medal once again.
